Drawing Near - Going Out: Boldness

Dave Schneider begins a new series on prayer by teaching through the prayer of the early church in Acts 4. They prayed for boldness to continue to preach the gospel despite difficulty. Will we be a people of prayer? Will we seek God to ask for boldness to share the verbal gospel?

God of Hope: Hope in Rejection

When someone rejects you they are making a statement of your worth and you tend to carry that rejection with you. God shows us our worth to Him in that even though we have rejected Him, He sent His Son for us. Matt Ward concludes God of Hope with a focus on finding hope in God when we experience rejection.

What are you afraid of? God speaks words of hope into our fears! Matt Ward compares two stories about the prophet Elijah that give us five words of hope that we can use when we realize we are being gripped with fear.

God of Hope: Hope in Loneliness

Matt Ward began a three week series called, "God of Hope." This first week was on Student Ministry Sunday, and Matt's focus was finding "Hope in Loneliness" found in God's words of hope to Jeremiah the prophet. Loneliness is at an all time high in our country, affecting all age groups, but our God speaks words of hope into our lives!

Known: Loyalty

Dave Schneider finishes up this series on Psalm 139 in this Mother's Day sermon. In the last section of this Psalm David calls out in fierce loyalty to the God he loves opening up several points of discussion on how we are to live among a people and culture who do not love God as we do.

Dave Schneider teaches through Psalm 139:13-18 has King David praises God for His Omnipotence. David is amazed at God's creative power as he meditates on the complexity of the human body. God knows us more than anyone could ever know us and we are left in awe and wonder of His majesty!

Dave Schneider teaches through the next several verses of Psalm 139 as King David poetically describes God's omnipresence. Some may find the idea of God being everywhere all the time as unnerving, but David takes comfort in the fact that the God who loves is the God who is near.

Easter: Behold The Lamb of God!

Dave completes our series, "Into The Wilderness," by walking us through the concept of the Lamb throughout scripture. God sent a lamb into Egypt to rescue His people from bondage to Pharaoh and He sent The Lamb into Jerusalem to rescue His People from bondage to sin.

Into The Wilderness: Lust

From our Good Friday service held on 4.14.17. You will first hear a drama performed by Matt Ward and his son, Greyson, called, "Frustration." The set was one of a couch on stage, being their living room. The drama directs our hearts toward the subject of lust and how it draws us away from relationship with God and others. Dave then teaches on this last of the seven deadly sins and how our lust is connected to Christ's death on the cross.

 

Into The Wilderness: Gluttony

Gluttony is the heart condition of seeking physical comfort over relationship with Jesus. Dave guides us in our understanding of this often ignored entangling sin in our culture and how we can move towards self-control.

The great irony of anger is that when we experience a lack of control in our world we express a lack of control in ourselves. This past Sunday, Matt Ward taught through the story of Cain and Able as we focused on rooting out the sin of anger to pursue patience.

As we continue our time in the wilderness reordering our loves, Matt Ward teaches from Matthew 20:1-16 on the sin of envy and how it kills our joy and causes us to accuse God of mismanagement of His sovereign grace. We need to pursue gratitude, which keeps our eyes on the Giver instead of the gifts!

Dave Schneider begins the next phase of our journey to reorder our loves in the wilderness by introducing the seven deadly sins and their contrasting virtues that manifest in our hearts as we seek to follow after Jesus. Matt Ward concluded our Cultivate series this past Sunday. God has a redemptive plan to bring people back into relationship by grace through faith in Jesus, and the Holy Spirit guides us into opportunities to share the gospel, the question is how will we respond? Matt teaches through two examples from scripture where we learn how we can respond well to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit was sent to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. We can share the gospel freely, knowing the Holy Spirit is the one who invades and transforms hearts. This week in our series, Cultivate, Dave dove into Jesus' teaching on the work of the Holy Spirit in evangelism out of John 16.
